Everyday Rituals

Nature-Inspired Folk Art Paintings & Botanical Layers

Florence, Flo, Frances, and Flora—four fine feathered friends carrying forward the narrative lineage of my practice through an intentional ten-day painting ritual.

Built upon warm paprika reds, ochres, and gelli-printed garden foliage, expressive plumage filled with soft sky blues and hand-drawn marks emerges through daily repetition. The final layer introduces Grandma's Green—a deep forest shade inspired by a vintage 1930s Apilco Bistro tea set. Serendipitously, this classic porcelain was officially named the Flora range—the exact name intuitively given to one of the birds. Float-framed in waxed natural wood, these original folk art paintings offer a gentle connection to the wildlife outside your window and a quiet moment of pause for your daily routines.
