Capsule Culture 26/27

Feed your senses – fill your cup

With endless choices for activities that nurture the soul, we—Emma, Jenny, and I—focused on what most delights us. By exploring colour, texture, and shape in our own work, we now invite you to share in this sensory journey with a hand-picked selection of experiences that evoke nostalgia and inspiration.

This collection offers experiences to spark inspiration all year. We present nomadic feasts, sonic immersions, and visual wonders designed to help you discover what truly moves you. Whether sketching after-hours at the National Gallery or wandering the Ewelme watercress beds, we encourage you to find beauty in daily life.

Let’s explore. . .

Meet your curators

Ali’s contemporary paintings celebrate 'everyday magic' in cherished objects, rendered in curiously abstracted, richly coloured compositions. She also creates folk-inspired botanical prints and stationery, which bring nostalgic warmth to the home.

Ali also leads the BRIGHT Sketchbook Playdate, an online community that sparks playful art-making and meaningful connections through accessible, monthly video guides.

Emma restores unloved furniture, inventing new narratives that bring joy and make a statement. Her sensitive use of colour and pattern elevates and delights.

She also crafts bespoke reclaimed-wood furniture and home accessories, each piece celebrating unique wood grain and perfect imperfection.

Jenny works intuitively at the wheel, letting her hands find the curve within the clay. Each piece emerges slowly — shaped by touch, rhythm, and quiet attention.

Bowls, jugs, mugs and vessels are individually made with the hope that they will be held close, used often, and quietly woven into everyday life. At the heart of the work is the curve: soft, grounding, and deeply human.
